I have been an active member of West Street Potters for more than 20 years. I work in stoneware. On the wheel, I enjoy creating domestic ware, particularly bowls and flat dishes, and I like to introduce coloured clay to the main clay body to produce unique and interesting patterns.
I also hand build more unusual pieces, such as large asymmetrical pots or wall-hung tiles and enjoy the freedom of playing with surface texture or introducing other materials such as sea glass or calcined glazes which liquefy in firing to produce pools of colour.
