Nina Peskett

My work is thrown and also includes slabs, and figurative work based on life drawings. I like to work in a direct, free and immediate way, trying to retain the energy of the making and the qualities of the wet clay.

I enjoy the excitement and surprises that woodfiring has to offer. I am currently trying out different and contrasting clay bodies with additions, among other things, of sands and paper fibre, fired to stoneware temperatures.

Decoration is limited to slips freely applied, and glazes generally applied to interior surfaces only, so that the colours and textures of the body clay are more apparent.
